Custom Tasmanian Oak bookshelf

This custom shelving unit was made from Tasmanian Oak and built specifically to wrap around the client’s window space - turning an awkward area into something functional and beautiful.

The whole idea was to keep it light, open, and airy, so the natural light still pours through while the shelves add warmth and character to the room.

The style is simple and relaxed, with smooth rounded edges and clean lines that give it a soft, modern feel without being too sharp or heavy.

One of the nicest details in this build is that each shelf panel was bookmatched, so the grain flows perfectly and stays beautifully consistent across the piece. It’s one of those finishes you might not notice straight away

The vertical dowel-style posts keep everything feeling open, and the layered shelves make the perfect home for plants, books, and those little pieces that make a space feel lived in and make it feel extra special.
