Custom floating desk for a study nook

This custom floating study desk was all about keeping things simple, practical, and a bit beautiful at the same time.

Made from a stunning live-edge timber slab, it brings heaps of natural character into the space without making it feel bulky or crowded.

At 2000mm long x 600mm wide, there’s plenty of room to spread out with a laptop, books, and the inevitable coffee (or two), while the floating design keeps the floor clear and the whole nook feeling open.

The live edge and grain patterns are the real stars here — no two slabs are ever the same, which makes each desk a true one-off. Finished in a premium hardwax oil to protect the surface while keeping that natural timber look and feel.
